Visit Hall of Names at Gloucester Tall Ships which is back for 2022 with a jam-packed schedule, including Hall of Names! There will be family fun and entertainment, setting sail over Queen Elizabeth II’s Platinum Jubilee Weekend, Friday 3rd – Sunday 5th June. You’ll meet our lovely retailers Frank and Hazel, who will be showcasing the Hall of Names range.
What can you learn about your name?
The Hall of Names range includes surname histories with the earliest coat of arms relating to a bearer of the name. Plus you can also view clan histories, and Irish histories. And there is really so much to discover about your name! If you are looking for an ideal gift for a couple, then ask Frank and Hazel about the double coats of arms scroll. Not only does this gift feature two coats of arms side by side, but it also has your personal message below. For example, you could include a significant date such as a wedding. You’ll be able to see it all on screen before Frank or Hazel print it out for you while you wait!
What happens at the Tall Ships Event?
As well as performers and entertainers, the free-to-attend festival has a huge range of fantastic traders. These will be selling gifts, crafts, street food, drink, homewares and treats. So get ready to enjoy the magnificent maritime action, as well as atmosphere, shopping and live music. This event inspired Hollywood producers to choose Gloucester Docks as a location to film the 2016 blockbuster Alice Through the Looking Glass. You can even come aboard and see these impressive Tall Ships first hand. Plus, you’ll experience live battle re-enactments, and have the chance to take a trip on the water. Plus much more over this three day event.
